How much does a sworn English translator charge?
English sworn translations are usually charged per document, rather than per word, unless the documents are very long. In that case, a per word rate could be agreed. All of our translation quotes are free of charge. A sworn English translation of a criminal record certificate costs around 45 euros + VAT.
Are your English translations legal valid?
Translations from English to Spanish and from Spanish to English made by official English translators authorised by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs are legally valid in Spain.
Are a sworn English translator and a sworn English interpreter the same thing?
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs appoints sworn translators and interpreters. A sworn translator-interpreter of English is an official translator authorised by the Spanish Ministry to perform sworn translations between English and Spanish. The signature and official stamp of the English translator must be registered with the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The sworn translator can provide written translations or oral interpreting from English into Spanish, e.g. in court, notary offices, law firms. They may be called a sworn translator for English or a sworn interpreter for English, interchangeably.
